Introduction: Leadership starts with you
Welcome to "Principles of Good Leadership"
You don't become a leader because you studied a subject. There is no degree program that turns you into a "finished" leader. Most people learn through learning by doing - through positive experiences, but also through painful moments with supervisors who showed how not to do it.
Perhaps this sounds familiar:
You sit in endless meetings, juggle projects, personnel issues, and emails - while sensing that real leadership is falling short.
Or you experience how your best intentions fade in everyday business:
- You want to create clarity - but confusion and misunderstandings remain.
- You want to motivate your team - and encounter resistance or indifference.
- You want to make decisions - and get tangled up in rules, processes, and interests that slow you down.
- You've explained it dozens of times - and it's still done wrong.
This is not an exception. Almost all leaders feel this way - whether new to the role or with many years of experience.
And this is exactly where this training begins.
What this training is about
This online training does not provide you with yet another set of quick fixes. It is about you - your attitude, your values, and your principles as a leader.
In the end, it's not about how many tools you have in your toolbox.
What matters is your inner compass.
That's why you will be guided by questions that really matter:
- What do you stand for - and what not?
- What do you want to drive forward as a leader?
- What difference do you want to make?
- How do you handle power?
- Which principles guide your actions - even in difficult moments?
Your path through 17 chapters
The training is clearly structured:
- 17 chapters, each requiring about one hour of work.
- Each chapter contains exercises and reflection questions to help you sharpen your leadership identity.
- After each chapter, you will receive an implementation task by email, enabling you to apply what you've learned directly in your leadership practice.
- With the Leadership Check, you can assess your current leadership quality beforehand and validate it again after completing the training.
Scientifically grounded - prepared for practice
This training is based on over 80 scientific sources. ( References)It's like working through 80 specialist books - but condensed, clearly explained, and applied to practice. A key foundation is Transformational Leadership (Weblink: Transformational Leadership), a model proven to increase motivation, engagement, and performance.
Instead of lecturing theory, this training translates scientific insights into concrete situations you know from your daily work.
What you need to get started
There is one basic requirement: time for yourself. Leadership does not develop in passing. It develops when you create a space for undisturbed reflection.
Maybe it's an hour on the weekend with a cup of coffee, maybe a ritual at the end of the workday.
- "Time" means: undisturbed time, free from everyday interruptions. The "sacred" hour.
- "Place" means comfort and space to let your thoughts flow freely.
- "Leisure" means a worry-free state of mind. Everyday problems stay outside during this time.
The key is that you consciously give yourself this time and space.
Your benefit
At the end of this training, you will have:
- a clear leadership vision that carries you and your team,
- an inner compass that gives you confidence in challenging moments,
- and concrete tools you can apply immediately.
