Inspiration Needs Time and Space

In order to be inspired, one must be receptive. If you are caught up in daily life, working through to-do lists, addressing daily problems, and then also paying attention to family, friends, and fitness, it will be hard to be inspired.

Inspiration needs time and space. If you want to inspire as a leader, you must provide periods of time and protected space from everyday work.

  • "Time" means undisturbed time, free from the influence of daily tasks. The "sacred" hour.
  • "Place" means comfort and space to let your thoughts flow freely.
  • "Leisure" means a carefree mood. Daily problems should stay outside during this time.
How you can create the prerequisites for inspiration for yourself:
Get yourself a drink of your choice. Close the door. Turn off your phone. Make yourself comfortable in a seat of your choice.
Grab two blank sheets of paper and a pen.

EXERCISE:
Write down all the tasks and to-dos you still have to complete on a blank sheet of paper. Everything that comes to mind. (If you're logged in, you can best enter them here.) Don't stop writing until you've created a list of all current thoughts, worries, problems, and ideas. This list is meant to ensure nothing is forgotten. You can always add to this list. You will come back to it later to decide what you want to implement from it.

This list can be expanded at any time. It serves as a parking space for unfinished business. And there is a lot of it.

Throughout this workbook, we will refer back to this list. So please keep it safe!

Start by writing everything down now. Take 5 minutes for it, without stopping the pen! Your phone can help by setting the 5-minute timer. Otherwise, set it to "Do Not Disturb."
